The North Norfolk coast is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The varied landscape includes sand dunes and salt marshes, downlands, woodlands and heath, with many beautiful villages.
Fakenham itself lies just outside the AONB but is an excellent base with good roads for exploring north Norfolk. It is a friendly and unpretentious town, with a thriving market and country auction every Thursday.
Cyclists, birdwatchers, walkers, sailors and photographers all enjoy the area and many return again and again. We have guide books and maps for you to borrow.
Finally, for parents, within a few hundred yards we have a (shallow) river with ducks and chickens for the children to feed. (Click on the images to enlarge.)
